Industry Terms & Definitions

ASP.NET

Is a free web framework developers may use for building websites, apps and services with HTML, CSS and JavaScript.

CRM

Customer Relationship Management is a tool for managing a company’s interactions with current and potential customers. CRM software provides a way to automate and synchronize customer service, sales, marketing and technical support.

Cloud Computing

Cloud computing allows businesses to use files and applications through a real-time communication network such as the internet. Cloud based options are options provided by many software programs.

BPM

Business Process Management is a way of looking at and controlling processes in a business. Various software providers have developed programs to help streamline process management. Get all the data, processes and documents in one simple interface.

Datix Connect

Our no-code software connector is cloud-based, and allows businesses to bi-directionally sync their data from their ERP with data stored in their CRM.

Ecommerce

Electronic commerce, known as ecommerce or e-commerce is an industry where buying and selling of products or services occurs online. Numerous hosting options are available and businesses are able to create their own customized online stores.

Mcommerce

Mobile commerce or mcommerce, is a derivation of ecommerce where businesses develop mobile versions of their stores to appeal to mobile shoppers and purchases. This market is expected to grow significantly in the coming years.

ERP

Enterprise Resource Planning is a business management software used to streamline business processes. ERP software can help businesses with: service management, lean manufacturing, quality management, financials, manufacturing supply chain, process manufacturing, wholesale and distribution.

Epicor

Epicor is a software corporation, based in San Francisco and founded in 1972.  Epicor produces business software for a variety of industries including: manufacturing, distribution, retail and services industry. Their primary focus in on enterprise software which encompasses ERP software, Distribution software, HCM software and Retail software.

Epicor 9

Epicor 9 is an ERP software designed primarily for midmarket companies, that relies on True SOA an adaptable, collaborative business architecture.

Epicor 10

Epicor 10 is Epicor’s latest version of its signature ERP software. A new clean UI and an updated configurator are key features.

HCM

Human Capital Management includes managing core HR functions: employee records, absence tracking, benefits administration, salary and planning; performance management: appraisal documents, goal management; employee features: time off requests, benefit enrollment, competency profile, personal information, enrollment in training courses and timesheets.

Integration

Integration is a crucial portion of the ERP implementation process where the software is connected and synced to other business functions such as CRM or HCM.

Microsoft Dynamics CRM

Microsoft developed a CRM software that allows businesses to connect and manage sales, customer care, marketing, social and technology for ideal customer relationships.

On-Premises

On-premises software is installed and run on computers located in the building of the organization using the software.

SCM

Supply Chain Management is the management of a flow of goods. It is frequently monitored and tracked via software to track supply chain, scheduling, execution and supplier relationships.

SaaS

Software as a Service is a software distribution model where applications are hosted by a vendor or service provider and then made available to customers over a network, usually the internet. Many software providers turn to SaaS because it is easy for multiple users to access.

Salesforce

Salesforce is the enterprise cloud computing leader.  Salesforce has offered its no-software CRM solution to  more than 100,000 customers since 1999.

User Interface

User interface, also called UI, is the design a human viewer sees when interacting with a machine or software.
